The fundamental problem in Mozambique is the lack of Bible preaching churches among the entire population. Mozambique is a large country, about twice the size of California with a population of over 30 million. Staggeringly, over 50% of the population is under the age of 18 years old. The country was colonized by Portugal therefore, they have a heavy Catholic influence. In recent years, a large percent of the population have converted to Islam. Not to mention, the large emphasis on animism and ancestral worship. Mozambicans are a very religious people however, they are void of the only thing that will give them true life, Jesus Christ.
We want to do more than just give everyone a chance to hear--we want to put a church within reach of every Mozambican. This is a huge task, not only because of the many languages throughout Mozambique, but also because of the vast land mass.
Our vision is to start churches and train leaders that will be able to effectively reach their own people with the gospel. We firmly believe that if people have a church, they have a chance! Nonetheless, the churches need faithful national pastors to shepherd the flock.
